My blog is a little bit long because I included two Videos-
1. Me reading from a banned or challenged book, talking about why it was banned, and giving brief remarks about it while I read.
2. Choose a favorite banned/challenged book and discuss what the book means to you, and how you would feel if someone prevented you from reading it.
I liked your vlog because you included a lot of specific information that shows that this book shouldn't be banned. Your word choice was great and I liked how you quickly changed topic without be repetitive. The last thing that I really liked was that you combined your two videos together. Great Vlog.
ReplyDeleteWow Julia! Great blog, I had no idea "Charlotte's Web" was that old! "Charlotte's Web is an award winning Novel made in 1952." You blog was so full of information!
ReplyDeleteI like that you chose the quote that showed Charlotte's work was done, and that she had saved Wilbur. It shows her friendship with him and that it was sort of last accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteJulia,
ReplyDeleteWOW! You did an amazing job on this vlog! I liked how you used so much information about the book and how you used you own opinions. I never would have thought that Charlotte's Web would be on the banned/ challenged books list. It is silly that they are challenging the book because of animals talking and a spider dying. I liked how you talked about the religion and made a good point about the bible being on the banned/challenged books list. I learned that this book has been translated in 23 different languages and that people have challenged this book. Great job!

I love how you say factual details about the book being famous rather than just saying it's famous. Like knowing that it has been translated to many different languages. I also didn't know that book offended religion. The book that I chose for my Vlog also has been banned because it has been claimed to offend religion too. Good Vlog this week!
ReplyDeleteWow. I learned that this book was banned because the passages of the spider dying was "an inappropriate subject of matter for children" I find this outrageous. First of all, I can say that kids from the age of 6 have killed a spider before or seen someone kill one. It's nothing new to them. Also, death is a part of life. Hiding it from them is just going to make it even hard to learn about death or if someone dies.
